Bold Color. Playful Patterns. Expressive Portraiture
About B. Nash
Brittany Nash is a marketing strategist and photographer by profession, but she is an artist at her core. As a Black woman, Brittany’s work reflects her deep interest in how we appear in the world and how we express ourselves. Through her artistic practice, she aims to create work that encourages others to explore their own expression and passion.
Her journey into poetry began with the discovery of words as tools to paint vivid imagery. Through her love of reading, she learned that words can powerfully narrate emotions, perspectives, and the world around us.
In her artistic practice, Brittany aims to create work encouraging others to explore their own expression and passion. Through poetry, she finds the cadence of her voice and the surety in her thoughts, allowing her to connect more deeply with herself and others. Whether through the lens of a camera or the rhythm of a poem, or bringing a scketch to life with paint, her work is a celebration of self-expression, cultural identity, and the transformative power of art.
Work Concepts
As an explorer of art and a creative at heart, I love testing mediums and using bold color, playful patterns, and expressive portraiture, creating works of art that center joy, beauty, and individuality. I often work with vibrant palettes, organic shapes, and layered textures that evoke movement, growth, and interconnectedness. Floral forms, flowing lines, and rhythmic patterns appear throughout my pieces, symbolizing transformation and the many ways identity evolves.
Work Features
Many of my portraits highlight women who embody both softness and strength, figures who are confident, reflective, and unapologetically themselves. Through these subjects, I explore the idea that power need not be loud; it can exist in a calm presence, quiet confidence, and authentic self-expression.
Even my abstract work is ultimately rooted in celebration. By combining contemporary portraiture with vibrant abstract elements, I create art that invites viewers to pause, reflect, and connect with their own sense of creativity and identity. My work is meant to uplift and inspire, serving as colorful reminders that self-expression is both powerful and necessary.
